This is what my natural wavy hair looks like during the week.

These were results of a protein washday. On this washday, I styled upright with a wide tooth comb.

On day 1, I had great definition (protein tends to do that to my hair). As the days progress, I start to lose definition and gain volume. By Day 5, I washed my hair again.

Even though I start to lose definition during the week, this is very natural and normal for wavy hair. Wavy hair will rarely look the same on different days of the week. You would need to refresh regularly to sustain that definition and relatively frizz free look on non-washdays.

I personally don’t mind the loss of definition. As long as my hair isn’t dry, I’m happy. When it feels dry, I do a dry refresh.

Btw if you’re wondering, my hair used to retain definition much better when it was more porous and longer.
