Timtim: Routelint TRAIN DRIVER's POV Groningen - Zwolle SNG 22jan 2020

Timtim is the name the NS has given to the tablet on which drivers can see "route ribbon". This ribbon is a schematic representation of the blocks in front of the train, and trains located therein. Because any delay of those trains is also shown, the driver can better anticipate and prevent the train from coming to a stop for a red signal. You can also see in this video that we are running a timetable at the NS that is accurate to tenths of a minute. At Beilen station a demonstration of one of the many strong points of the SNG: the windscreen wiper and its performance at high speeds. Enjoy!

Timtim is de naam die de ns heeft gegeven aan de tablet waarop machinisten routelint kunnen zien. Het lint is een schematische weergave van de blokken voor de trein, en treinen die zich daarin bevinden. Omdat eventuele vertraging van die treinen ook wordt getoond, kan de machinist beter anticiperen en voorkomen dat de trein voor een rood sein tot stilstand komt. Jullie kunnen in deze video ook zien dat we bij de ns een dienstregeling rijden die tot op tienden van een minuut nauwkeurig is.
