Ibanez DM2000 Digital Delay

Early 1980’s digital delay. You can set any delay time accurately in milliseconds starting from 0ms. With the modulation section and the feedback control it’s possible to set flanger and chorus as well as any delay / echo.

The original manufacturer diagram on top of the unit is still there and provide a range of suggestions for settings.

It’s old tech obviously and the unit can’t store settings. It just wasn’t available back then. Basically once you switch the unit off you would need to set the echo time again.

The unit came originally with a European plug but I changed to a UK plug. Hence the slightly ugly tape wrapped around the power chord. This can be quickly changed to a new one or reverted back to a European plug.

Usually the smaller DM500 and DM1000 can be found but this is the DM2000 - which was Ibanez’ flagship model back in the early 1980’s. These units have become quite rare and could just as well be a museum’s piece.

Despite this being an old digital delay, the tone is remarkably warm and organic, almost analoge sounding.
