►About Disha Vakani:
Disha Vakani (born 17 September 1978) is an Indian film and television actress. She started her career as a stage actress in Gujarati theatre like Kamal Patel v/s Dhamal Patel and Lali Lila. She has appeared in supporting roles in Hindi films like Devdas (2002) and Jodhaa Akbar (2008). She has played the lead role of Daya Jethalal Gada in SAB TV's sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah since 2008. She went on the maternity leave in November 2017 and has not returned to the show since.
Disha Vakani was born in a Gujarati family in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. She graduated in the Dramatic arts from Gujarat College in Ahmedabad. She married a Mumbai-based chartered accountant named Mayur Padia on 24 November 2015. On 30 November 2017, a girl named Stuti Padia was born to them. Her brother Mayur Vakani also plays her on-screen brother Sundar Lal in the television serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (English: Taarak Mehta's inverted spectacles) is one of the India's longest running sitcoms. It is produced by Neela Tele Films Private Limited. The show went on air on July 28, 2008. It airs from Monday to Friday on SAB TV. Reruns of the show started on Sony Pal from November 2, 2015.
The show is based on the column Duniya Ne Undha Chashma written by real-life columnist and journalist/playwright Taarak Mehta for Gujarati weekly magazine Chitralekha.
