Dying of cancer - and stuck in coronavirus lockdown
Update: It is with great sadness that we share the news that Lin has died. Her diaries about living with a terminal illness have touched so many and Marie Curie has written an open letter to this inspirational lady - https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/blog/a-letter-to-lin-dalton/275197
Lin has terminal cancer and is spending what may be her finals days in coronavirus lockdown - not knowing if she'll ever leave the house again.

She was told by doctors she had between 18 months and two years to live, and is now approaching the 18 month mark. Lin, who lives in Birmingham, now finds herself in a three month period of self-isolation. "I don't even know if I've got 12 weeks to live," she tells us.
Before the coronavirus outbreak she had planned to go away on holiday and spend some quality time with her family, but those plans have now been cancelled.
Despite only having a limited time, Lin is still staying in self-isolation to help protect others from the spread of the virus. "It's difficult not to feel cross when I see that people are flaunting the rules and going out and about their normal everyday business instead of observing the advice we've been given...but to me that's a waste of emotional energy and I have enough to worry about as it is", she says.
"I think one of think one of the lessons we should learn from the coronavirus situation - but throughout life in general - is to be kind to each other, to think about each other, consider other people - and do what we can to help, whenever we can."
