Demystifying the Economic Survey 2018-19 : India's Rapid Demographics Shift: PEA, Sanjeev Sanyal

India’s population growth is set to slow sharply in the next two decades, with some states transitioning to an ageing society by the 2030s. Declining population in the 5-14 age group will have implications for merging/consolidating elementary school facilities, while rising share of 60 years and above population will require investments in health care and a plan to gradually increase the retirement age.
