USS Midway's (CV 41) final sailing with HIGH SPEED RUN

This video documents the final time the USS MIDWAY (CV 41) sailed under her own power as she returned to the USA from Japan via Hawaii and Seattle in September 1991. The USS MIDWAY (CV 41) was the first carrier to launch strikes during Desert Storm.

This was also a "Tiger Cruise" where guests of the crew were allowed to sail with the ship from Seattle to San Diego

You can see the appearance of the ship before she was modified to allow easier access for museum guests.

The USS Midway is now a museum ship in San Diego. It is the finest aircraft carrier museum open to the public as many of the features you will see exist on the most modern carriers sailing today.
