Quick Facts:
• Debut Studio Album released in April 1970 by Apple Records, #1 in US, #2 in UK.
• McCartney played all the musical instruments on the album – from acoustic and electric guitars and bass to keyboards, drums and various percussion instruments – with Linda supplying backing vocals on some songs. He refused to issue any singles.

1. The Lovely Linda – 43 Seconds shortest in his catalogue, wrote it for Linda, Some think it was a reply-of-sorts to Lennon's public declarations of love for Yoko.

2. That Would Be Something – Plays acoustic guitar, bass, electric guitar, tom tom, cymbal and performs vocal percussion to simulate a drum kit. Shortly after album's release, Harrison described this song and "Maybe I'm Amazed" as "great".

3. Valentine Day – Instrumental, Recorded at home and made up as he went along.

4. Every Night – Wrote during a holiday in Greece. It spotlights the depression he suffered after the breakup of The Beatles and is a declaration of his love for Linda.

5. Hot as Sun/Glasses – 3-part instrumental included on McCartney, the third part being a very few seconds of “Suicide“. 1st fragment, “Hot As Sun”, was written back around 1959. Next, cuts to “Glasses”, made by playing the rims of wineglasses and then overdubbing the recording.

6. Junk – Wrote in 1968 while the group was studying Transcendental Meditation in India. After their return he recorded the song as a demo at Harrison's home, before sessions for the White Album took place. It was ultimately denied inclusion on The White Album or Abbey Road.

7. Man We Was Lonely – Chorus ("Man We Was Lonely") was written in bed at home, shortly before we finished recording the album.

9. Momma Miss America – Instrumental. He said "An instrumental recorded completely at home. Made up as I went along – first a sequence of chords, then a melody on top. Originally it was two pieces, but they ran into each other by accident and became one."

10. Teddy Boy – Written during the Beatles' stay in India, originally recorded during the 1969 sessions for Let It Be album.

11. Singalong Junk – A slightly longer, instrumental version of junk. Beside the exclusion of vocals, features mellotron strings and the melody is played on a piano.

12. Maybe I'm Amazed – Dedicated to Linda. Rolling Stone #347 on “500 Greatest Songs of All Time”. He credited Linda with helping him get through the difficult time. Although most of album was recorded at his home, recorded this entirely in studio 2 in Abbey Road.
