Should have mentioned the stats will only directly upgrade from choosing the same option. And it only goes up when the tier number changes. + tiers are inbetweens, thus don’t affect it.

Know other people have covered this. But Figured I'd include relevant info along with my contribution to the method. Start farming and scrapping everything for components. You'll need tons if you want to go as hard at this as I have.
