Canadian teachers told to prioritize race in how they interact with students

Way back in 2003, the Toronto District School Board published a guide on how to address “sensitive issues” in the classroom. Teachers were told to contextualize controversial materials and urge students not to take them personally. A 40-page inquisition by the Equity, Anti-Racism & Anti-Oppression Department has replaced that guide. It tells teachers that they serve a school system that is inherently white supremacist.
