In the late '60s and early '70s, a style of music was born out of the D.C area called Go-Go - A mix of funk, soul, blues, jazz, and early hip-hop. Known for its large group size and heavy percussion, as well as its place in the violent club scene of the early '90s. A truly unique style of music that plays an important part in the history of DC music.
