Austria Rises | EU5 Austria Campaign Part 1 (1337–1397)

In this first episode of my Europa Universalis V Austria campaign, we start in 1337 with a fragmented Austria inside the Holy Roman Empire.

Austria begins divided, its lands awkwardly split by the Bavarian states. Over the first 60 years, I focus on bridging that gap, consolidating the Austrian heartland, and building a historically grounded Habsburg path to power.

In this episode, you’ll see:

Consolidation of core Austrian lands

Conquest through Bavaria to unify territory

Expansion into Swabia and Switzerland to secure the Alpine region

Diplomatic and military moves to build imperial legitimacy

Becoming Holy Roman Emperor before the end of the 14th century

This is a historical Austria playthrough and strategy guide, designed for players who want to understand how Austria snowballs through legitimacy, timing, and smart wars within the Empire, not brute-force conquest.
