The dirt work crew has begun to backfill and compact the soil around this foundation. They use two excavators, one of them places the soil and the other excavator uses a plate compactor to compact the soil up next to the foundation. It is important to get good compaction, especially under areas where there will be concrete patios or other items placed where settling will cause issues.
