Special U.N General Assembly session to meet over the conflict

The United Nations General Assembly today takes up the question of Russia's invasion of Ukraine after it was referred by the U.N. Security Council yesterday. A procedural vote in the Council suspended the use of the veto and referred the matter for an Emergency Special Session to all 193-member states with debate on a new draft resolution commencing in the next hour.
These were some of the views expressed in that Council meeting yesterday after 11 countries voted in favour of sending the matter to the GA - a measure that drew three abstentions and one no vote from Russia.
