Bonnet Carre Spillway. 2018. Opened for the 12th time in it's 87 year history.
Today they started opening some of the 350 bays that make up the Bonnet Carre Spillway here in Louisiana. Built between 1929 and 1930 after the flood of 1927 that flooded 27,000 square miles. I can not even grasp in my mind a flood of that magnitude. It was interesting to watch such an important part of history.
