ADVICE for English Teachers & English Learners + Vocabulary
ABOUT THE LESSON 📚
Let's have a discussion about teaching English and learning English. Many who watch our lessons are teachers. So I wanted to reach out to them and offer some friendly advice for classroom success. These suggestions are also relevant to English learners but in a different way. And as we discuss the topic, I'll throw in some new vocabulary words and phrases.
Here is the vocabulary from the lesson.
1) Take things with a grain of salt. – not believe everything is true; to doubt things
2) To get off on the right foot – start out a relationship in positive way
3)
First impression – the way someone initially thinks about you
4) This goes without saying. – you should know the information that I’m about to tell you
5) Eclectic (adjective) – using a variety of sources
6) (something) is a fact of life – emphasize that something is true and cannot be avoided
7)
tune out – stop paying attention
8) room for improvement – more space in which someone can improve
