SPRING IS HERE!!!!! It's time to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather and landscapes, and there is no better place than Sedona, Arizona.

Spring is peak season in Sedona, Arizona, and there is no shortage of things to do. Sedona is an outdoor paradise--jeep excursions, hiking trails, mountain biking, jogging, cliff jumping, swimming, hot air balloon rides, ATV rides, star gazing, wine tasting, etc.

We took advantage of the hiking trails while we were out in Sedona. Definitely some of the best hiking we have ever done. Due to the short amount of time, we hiked two shorter trails. Although short in distance, they were full of breathtaking scenic beauty.

Cathedral Rock is definitely a MUST SEE in Sedona, Arizona. The VisitSedona Facebook page posted a survey to their over 30,000 followers to vote for the "Seven Wonders of Sedona," and guess what #1 was??? You guessed it. CATHEDRAL ROCK!

Cathedral Rock Trail is accessible from the parking lot off of Back O'Beyond Rd., roughly 3.5 miles south of Uptown Sedona. To park and leave your vehicle at the parking lot, you will need to purchase a Red Rock Pass. The Red Rock Pass for a day costs $5. You can purchase your Red Rock Pass at the ticket machine at the parking lot of the Cathedral Rock Trailhead--just put your ticket on the dashboard.

Cathedral Rock Trailhead is a 1.5 mile roundtrip hike that involves over 600 ft. in elevation gain. Parts of the trail are steep, as you will see from the video, but that adds to the adventure. Wet conditions could be dangerous, just be mindful of that.

The Cathedral Rock Trailhead is clearly marked with a detailed map. In the vicinity there is also a toilet. The trail itself is easy to follow. It is marked with cairns (cages full of rocks) and white paint marks. Footholds are also notched into parts of the rock in order to make the ascent and descent easier.

What to Take:
- Daypack (this will keep your hands free during the ascent)
- Water and Snack
- Camera
- Hiking Boots or Tennis Shoes (strong soles and good support)
- Sunscreen
- First Aid Kit
- Sunglasses
- Long Sleeves (we experienced high winds, so it was nice protecting our skin)
