A new era for UK maritime air power: testing times, testing waters
This webinar, hosted in association with the Royal Navy Strategic Studies Centre, considers how the United Kingdom is on the cusp of a step change in its maritime air power capabilities, as well as the opportunities and challenges that this transformation represents. These capabilities are founded not only on the Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers and the F-35B Lightning II fighter, but also on the P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft and a range of other assets and potential new systems.
The speakers discuss how the role of these capabilities will develop in the light of unfolding global strategic dynamics and challenges − not least in the shadow of COVID-19 − and against the backdrop of the UK government’s ambitions for its integrated review into security, defence, development and foreign policy.
