Saeed Jaffrey was born on January 8, 1929, in Malerkotla, Punjab, British India (now in Punjab, India), he was a renowned Indian actor known for his versatile performances in both Bollywood and international films. Saeed Jaffrey's career spanned over six decades and included more than 150 British, American, and Indian films. He was the first Asian to receive nominations for British and Canadian film awards. His film credits include notable roles in "The Man Who Would Be King" (1975), "Shatranj Ke Khilari" (1977), "Gandhi" (1982), "A Passage to India" (1984), and "My Beautiful Laundrette" (1985). In Bollywood, Jaffrey appeared in films like "Ram Teri Ganga Maili" (1985), "Henna" (1991), both of which earned him Filmfare Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor. He also had a memorable cameo as Lallan Miyan in "Chashme Buddoor" (1981). Saeed Jaffrey passed away on November 15, 2015, in London.
