Christopher Guest & Jamie Lee Curtis’ “I’ll Marry That Guy” Love Story

In 1984 Jamie Lee Curtis was flipping through Rolling Stone when she saw a photo of Christopher Guest from This Is Spinal Tap and told a friend, “I’m going to marry that guy.” She got his number through a mutual friend, left a message, and weeks later they finally met for a blind date at Hugo’s restaurant in L.A. Five months after that first dinner they were married on Dec. 18, 1984. The couple later adopted two children, Annie and Thomas, and have kept their relationship extremely private. Curtis says the secret to their decades‑long marriage is simple: “He makes me laugh.”
