Visiting Autumn in Summer - A Tour of an 1850's Era Farm and Homestead in West Virginia

Having a visit with my friend Autumn in the summertime. I am sad to learn that Snowy, the wonderful Great Pyrenees farm dog and companion to autumn had passed away. Autumn is eager to get another Great Pyrenees for the farm. They are crucial for protecting livestock from predators.

We enjoy some fresh strawberries and homemade whipped cream on the porch during a warm summer rain squall, then we cross the creek bridges to visit the animals in a gentle summer rain. We have our first try at sexing baby chicks to see if we can determine if they are hens or cocks, and visit the new baby cow.

Truly, a wild and wonderful mountain rainforest. But as Autumn gives me a ride back up the mountain, there is still the harsh evidence of recent logging.
