On behalf of the Atlantic Council, you are cordially invited to attend the launch of the first Atlantic Council Strategy Paper, a new flagship publication series addressing the most important strategic issues facing the United States and its allies and partners.
This event will be held at the Atlantic Council's headquarters on Wednesday, April 22 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. It will feature a moderated discussion by Mr. Frederick Kempe, President and CEO of the Atlantic Council with the co-authors of the paper, Mr. Barry Pavel, Vice President and Director of the Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security, and Dr. Peter Engelke, Brent Scowcroft Center Senior Fellow, as well as with a distinguished panel of strategy experts, including Ambassador James Dobbins, senior fellow and Distinguished Chair in Diplomacy and Security at the RAND Corporation; Dr. Nora Bensahel, Distinguished Scholar in Residence at the American University's School of International Service; and Dr. Thomas Wright, fellow and director of the Project on International Order and Strategy at the Brookings Institution.
The inaugural Atlantic Council Strategy Paper, entitled "Dynamic Stability: Strategy for a World in Transition," explores the key global trends shaping the new "Westphalian-Plus world" and outlines a strategy for the United States to pursue to most effectively navigate this new landscape. It suggests that, in addition to continuing to pursue stability as a core foreign and national security policy goal, the United States should seek to harness the dynamic trends now unfolding to better protect and advance U.S. national interests.
The Atlantic Council Strategy Papers series is designed to enrich the public debate and build consensus on the great strategic challenges of our time, as well as to help shape strategic thinking in US and allied governments, the private and nonprofit sectors, and the global media.
We hope you will be able to join us for what is sure to be an informative and lively discussion!
