Mercedes trick that defied winter! #shorts #carfacts #fyp

Long before modern cars used complex electrical heating grids or fragile thermal sensors to clear ice from the windshield, Mercedes-Benz dominated winter driving with pure, unadulterated mechanical engineering. On the legendary W126 S-Class from the 1980s, engineers designed a brilliant and practically indestructible system to combat freezing temperatures. Instead of relying on electric heating elements that could fail or drain the battery, they routed the car's boiling-hot engine coolant through a specialized metal lines directly into the windshield washer fluid reservoir. A metal heating coil sat inside the plastic tank, acting exactly like an internal water kettle, warming up the washer fluid in real-time. This hot fluid immediately melted ice on impact and kept the entire wiper assembly functional in sub-zero blizzards. Peak German over-engineering!
