If you are camping, then best way to sleep well is to place a tube blowing under the covers or sleeping bag for the whole night. Its quiet and very cooling. It also creates enough white noise to help with those who prefer it. Even after it stops blowing cool air, its still circulating air around you.

I did cool a room from 76 down to 72 in about 2 hours. This is valid because the outside was about 77 at the time and the sun was shining on the outside wall of the room for about half that time. The door was closed and the room is about 14x12.
