Elvis sings "Dual Ballads for Shelley Fabares" (Clambake)

As I was frequently reminded while cobbling together "10 reasons Elvis rocks" over the summer of 2020, the "King of Rock 'n' Roll" is in fact a more distinguished balladeer than rocker. So while sorting through "Clambake" (1967), which is a tad challenging for we mere mortals, up popped two of the greatest ballads ever written: "A House That Has Everything," written by Sid Tepper and Roy C. Bennett specifically for Elvis in "Clambake"; and "You Don't Know Me," written in 1955 by Eddy Arnold and Cindy Walker, one or both of whom Elvis would have certainly been acquainted with at that time. Elvis could sing anything...but especially well-written ballads! These two are special, as they were for Shelley Fabares. Cheers. JL
