Sand Harbor Beach - LAKE TAHOE | TIPS to KNOW before you go!!!

Sand Harbor Beach is one of the most popular and beautiful in Lake Tahoe. It’s located northeastern in the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. It’s well known for it’s crystal-clear Aqua blue water and interesting rock formations. They have many activities including boating, kayaking, scuba diving, picnicking, and SUP ( Stand Up Paddle board). They also offer onsite Kayak and SUP rental and tours. There’s one Bar & Grill concession that offers snacks and drinks if you forget or too lazy to pack a picnic.

Parking is limited and usually fills up within 30 minutes of the park opening during the summer weekend. We highly recommend you get there early as they do not allow drop offs or walk in. Also, we recommend you have an alternate destination just in case the parking lot is full. Before the pandemic, they had shuttle services to pick up and drop off visitors from Incline Village. As of June 11, 2021 their website indicated that the shuttle services has been suspended for the summer 2021 due to “Lack of Drivers.”

Alcohol is allowed but “No Glass Bottle” at the waterfront. Propane grill and stove with on/off switch is allowed in the picnic area and not in the beach area. Charcoal and wood fire is prohibited in Sand Harbor Beach. Pets are only allowed off season from mid-October to mid-April.
