SurfingAfrica the film - overlanding in Hilux Surfs from Ireland to South Africa

Some highlights of a 7 month trip from Carrickfergus (Northern Ireland) to Cape Town (South Africa), completed in 2011.

We took two trucks. Louise and I drove one, while the other was driven by a rotating group of "co-drivers", each covering a leg of a couple of thousand miles (sometimes more, sometimes less).

Early in the trip we had a major diversion to avoid most of North Africa, as the Arab Spring unfolded. We passed through Syria as the unrest spread there, which has since unfolded into the civil war.

The name SurfingAfrica is reference to the type of trucks we used - Hilux Surfs. No actual surfing involved. Sorry to disappoint!

This is a remake to change the music and some other minor details, since Universal Music decided to block the original, 7 years after it was uploaded. Also a re-upload as the attempt last week had some errors in it.
