Don't let its slightly more sedate looks fool you, the new FL5 is here to give rivals like the VW Golf R a seriously hard time.

As we've come to expect from the CTR, it's far from a lightly warmed up Civic with bolt on performance parts. The chassis has four times the amount of bonding to improve rigidity, lightweight parts have been used throughout and the wing, while smaller than its predecessor's, is more efficient. Even the wheels have shrunk to 19 inches to save weight. And just in case there was any doubt about its performance, WTCR driver and F1 podium finisher Tiago Monteiro gave us a taster of what exactly the new Type R is capable of.
