Tracking the Tropics: September 19, 2025

Tropical Storm Gabrielle has formed in the central Atlantic Wednesday, but has struggled since birth. The seventh named storm of the season could become the second hurricane of the 2025 Atlantic season some time late this weekend.

Finally Friday morning, it is starting to show some signs of life. There is more thunderstorm activity close to the center of circulation. Thursday's battle with wind shear and dry air may be starting to back off.
