How to tell girl chicks from boys

Everyone wants to know - is this little chicken a girl or a boy?
There are lots of things that will give you a clue, but how well they work depends on the breed of chicken, including whether it's a slow-feathering heavy breed or a fast-feathering light breed and what kind of comb the adult chicken will have.
