Dimitri Bashkirov - Master Class For Piano: Victor Maslov plays Rachmaninov

Dimitri Bashkirov with Victor Maslov, participant of Bashkirov's master class in Berlin in April 2012. Maslov worked with Bashkirov among other works on the Etude-Tableaux g minor Op. 33 No. 8. The master class was conducted in Russian and German but Bashkirov's body language is so expressive that you don't really need to know either to understand what he wants to convey.

Dimitri Bashkirov, one of the best and most famous piano professors worldwide, gave a master class from April 16th to 20th, 2012 in Berlin. The Studio Niculescu arranged the master class in cooperation with the C. Bechstein Pianofortefabrik AG. More than 20 young pianists applied for the master class. Eight activ participants of the master class performed in the closing concert on April 20th in the stilwerk Berlin as part of C. Bechstein's Piano Concert Series 2012. The participants of the master class played in the Studio Niculescu on a C. Bechstein grand piano and performed at the forum of the stilwerk on a C. Bechstein concert grand D 282.

Dimitri Bashkirov is a legendary pianist who radiates irresistible charm and energy. He is also a much in demand educator who "produced" more outstanding pianists than anybody else. Among his students are his daughter Elena Bashkirova, Boris Bloch, Nicolai Demidenko, Dmitri Alexeev, Jonathan Gilad, Dang Thai Shon and Arcadi Volodos.

Victor Maslov, born 1997 in Moscow, studied at the Genssin Institute in Moskau with his mother, Olga Maslova.
