Episode 1 | Safety First: Philosophy of Practice with Black Clients

In this episode, I am reflecting (and ranting…) on a comedic video by the channel “Vague Rant,” in which a white therapist is meeting with a Black client for the first time. I offer my input as to how the therapist perpetuates harm to her Black client and ways in which a more Afrocentric approach would have been beneficial as well as why. Towards the end, I finally came up with “my” philosophy of practice with Black clients: safety first.
