Gamze Cizreli was born in Diyarbakır in 1968. She graduated from METU Business School. After 3 years of experienced corporate life in a company operating in Defense Industry in Ankara, she surrendered to her entrepreneurial spirit. Between 1993 and 2005, while there were no examples in Ankara yet, she brought many food and beverage brands to Ankara in very different concepts. She founded the BigChefs brand in 2007. Today, BigChefs has reached a total of 65 branches and 3000 employees in 7 countries. In addition to this, she is one of the first Turkish women entrepreneurs to have the chance to speak at the United Nations General Assembly with her "From Women of the Land to Tables Project". She also offers "Entrepreneurship" courses at METU Business School where she graduated. In 2010, she won the 1st place in the "Women Entrepreneur" competition organized in cooperation with the Women Entrepreneurs Association (KAGIDER) and Garanti Bank and is still actively working in non-governmental organizations such as KAGIDER and TURYİD. In 2011, 2013 and 2017, she was awarded "Women Entrepreneur of the Year" by Economist Magazine. She also wrote gourmet and travel articles in various magazines and newspapers.
