The Bad Short Film Music Video by Michael Jackson has to be one of my favorite music videos from MJ out of all of his previous work. Directed by one of my favorite directors Martin Scorsese who I've always wanted to work with as an actor, these two legends come together to create the true story of Edmund Perry and it ends up becoming a masterpiece! The Bad Short Film is shot in black and white cinematography giving it an eerie but classic look making it an intriguing but interesting feel that adds to the overall emotional tone. The acting in this Short Film by Michael Jackson was surprisingly good being that I've never really seen Michael act before and not with this type of scenario where he's in a bad neighborhood and he's interacting with "real" hood type street thugs who are supposed to be his childhood friends. When one of my favorite actors appeared I knew that it would be something special! Wesley Snipes clearly made this video what it has become today. His speech was something that I could never forget with his raw emotions and emphasis on certain words when he was scolding Michael about being real. He gave Michael's character a verbal beating telling him that when he left he'd forgotten who his real friends were. There appears to be a lot of jealousy built up. However Michael wanted to prove that he was still just as tough as they were. So at the end of the bad short film it was really Michael who won by being the bigger man not resorting to violence to solve problems. I think that Martin Scorsese, Michael Jackson and Wesley Snipes gave us a short film that made us feel like we just watched a full feature film with how the plot and acting pulled us into the story. I've always remembered the dialogue by Wesley and so I wanted to do a monologue from the BAD video for an audition and I got the opportunity to do it in Hollywood. So this video is a recording of me reciting everything from memory. I never wrote anything down or read a script and what you see me doing in this video is straight from memory after watching it so many times over!
