The Golden Knife Box

I made a sliding lid knife box out of White Ash and Quartersawn White Oak using keyed miter joints for a friend of mine to gift at a wedding. I laser engraved the top with Kanji characters. I inset the Japanese San-Mai knife into Kaisan foam and finished the box with a food-safe finish from Total Boat. A simple but elegant woodworking project.
