This popular cat has been an American Icon for quite sometime now, with its first introduction into the (pony car) market in 1967 as a Luxury alternative to the fun but somewhat basic Mustang.

The Cougar exemplified the "Upgrade"... Small in size compared to the great behemoths of the era, these cars offered distinct styling cues ranging from sequential turn signal tailights, hideaway headlights, to faux woodgrain accented interiors.

Available driveline options gave owners the ability to run with the big cats when provoked as well as in comfort while cruising to the favorite drive-in.
