Build a Bookcase/Desk Combo

This is really called a Planters Desk. But nobody does a search for "Planters Desk" on here. I built it all out of pine except for the cleats to hold the case down, which are poplar. I never work in Pine but wanted something light to lug up the stairs to a second story sound room I'm building. I wanted a rustic, driftwood look to the piece that would only hold my favorite paperbacks. I'm not a fan of bookcases, or hardcovers either. I'm also not a fan of drill presses that stop working halfway through production. Thankfully there is always a work around in woodworking.
