Who is eligible?
Roughly the bottom 50% of the country qualifies for this scheme.
All senior citizens aged 70 and above, regardless of income, are covered.
If already covered under other public health insurance schemes like ECHS or CGHS, beneficiaries can either choose PM-JAY or continue with their existing scheme.
If covered under private health insurance or Employees' State Insurance (ESI) scheme, senior citizens aged 70 and above can also avail of benefits under PM-JAY.
