How to wrap gifts with Japanese style etiquette

Japanese wrapping has a particularly formal quality: the wrapping rules for specific occasions like as celebrations and sad occasions like condolences.
The rules were issued by the emperor around 8th century. It’s same as kimono dressing method for both female and male. These customs eventually spread to the world of Japanese paper wrapping and became “aesthetics of wrapping” in the upper samurai class about 600 years ago.

The Japanese say giving a gift is like wrapping your heart. Just like helping a friend into their coat with hospitality.
