Bradford on Avon canoe loop - easy 8 mile paddle on the river Avon returning on the K & Avon canal

Inspired by a blogg that I read on a canoeing forum this is an 8 mile loop down the river Avon from Bradford on Avon to Dundas Aqueduct where a short portage takes you up to the Kennet & Avon canal and back to the starting point. It’s about 8 miles in all. A full day trip, but as always, it takes longer when making frequent stops for filming and photography. The portage up to the K&A canal is fairly steep and it takes several trips up and down especially if you’re carrying lots of gear like I was. It is possible to do longer routes on this section all the way into Bath and beyond, especially if you have suitable shuttle transport sorted.
