Control LEDs with your computer using RS232!

Learn how to control LEDs from your computer!

In this tutorial we explain the basics of RS232. We learn how to control eight LEDs from your computer by using the USART module of the PIC16F627A microcontroller and the MAX232. We build the RS232 circuit on a breadboard, understand the schematic, and build our own RS232 LED controller.
