Torquay and Jan Juc exposed in a way never seen before - OFMD
TORQUAY
Often considered to be the start of the Great Ocean Road
Torquay was the first beach in Australia to ever see a surf board.
It’s also home to the oldest continually operating surf club in Victoria.
And home of the world's longest continuously running pro surfing competition.
It’s the place where you can sometimes lucky enough to catch a potential Australian Kayak team in training.
JAN JUC
World famous for the discovery of the incredibly rare Janjucetus Hunderi. A member of the Baleen whale family that had the ability to eat sharks rather than suck plankton.
A beach classified as a especially hazardous. Mostly due to its constant rips, sharks, shallow sand bars, strong winds, beach erosion and underwater rocks. The surfers love it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
There’s a small art gallery at 4a/7 Gilbert St, Torquay. They feature a number of glass pieces from the well known Glassworks Torquay.
I thought it would be fun to include a bunch of unusual references to Glassworks in the video. Please check it out and let me know in the comments below, just how many you managed to find.
Also, if you have a minute when in Torquay one day, pop into the gallery and ask to view the Glassworks display. It’s rather good.
Cheers.
