This week, the UCSF Department of Medicine Covid-19 Grand Rounds will explore the implications of the election on the future of the pandemic. We’ll hear from three experts with deep experience in health policy and politics. The session is moderated by UCSF Department of Medicine chair Bob Wachter.

• Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo, Chair, UCSF Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and Vice Dean for Population Health and Health Equity in the UCSF School of Medicine. From 2014-2017, she chaired the US Preventive Services Task Force.
• Ezekiel Emanuel, Vice Provost for Global Initiatives and Co-Director of the Healthcare Transformation Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. From 2009 to 2011, he served as a Special Advisor on Health Policy to the Director of the OMB and National Economic Council. He has authored or edited 15 books, including “Which Country Has the World’s Best Health Care?” (2020).
• Andy Slavitt, former Director of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in the Obama administration. During the Covid-19 crisis, he has been a highly effective spokesperson for a science-based approach through scores of media appearances, his “In the Bubble” podcast, and frequent tweets to over 600,000 followers.
