How to Play Your MP3 Music on Alexa with My Media for Alexa

In this tutorial, I show you how to play your MP3 music on Alexa with the My Media for Alexa app / skill.

Materials Needed:
Raspberry Pi 3 or 3B+ Kit - https://amzn.to/2uv4ipm
32 GB or larger microSD card - https://amzn.to/2NpiSWg
32 GB of larger flash drive - https://amzn.to/2LjEXIw
Keyboard/Mouse
HDMI monitor
Your computer

Step 1: Transfer music from your home computer to a flash drive
Step 2: Copy music from the flash drive to the Pi.
Step 3: Install the OS and My Media for Alexa app on Raspberry Pi. Open http://localhost:52051 in a browser window.
Step 4: Enable and authorize My Media Skill for Alexa
Step 5: Say, "Alexa, open My Media."

A few months ago, Amazon has discontinued their Music storage program which prevents me from uploading new MP3 music to be played on my Alexa devices. Music purchased from Amazon can be played from Alexa (no changes).

Disclaimers:
No multi-room music
Raspberry Pi must be powered on and online to stream music.

If you don't have a Raspberry Pi, you can use your current computer, or an older computer.
