New coin released to mark 80 years since D-Day landings in World War Two
A new coin will be released to mark 80 years since the D-Day landings during World War Two.
The 50p coin was unveiled by the Royal Mint in the United Kingdom ahead of the anniversary on June 6.
On that day in 1944 Allied forces landed across five beaches in northern France, and marked the start of the campaign to free north-west Europe from the Nazis.
