(Note: Per declarations from Pope Leo XIII and later the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Anglicans and Episcopalians are not recognized as possessing a valid sacrament of holy orders for either males or females. However, in 2008 Pope Benedict XVI created the Anglican Ordinariate, which allows for whole diocese or parishes within this Protestant community to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church. Any former married Anglican/Episcopalian male ministers may pursue the dispensation to enter the Catholic priesthood.
