Amy & Blake have an incredible story of how they met and eventually fell in love. This is the email I received from Amy when she inquired about my wedding videography services 6 months before her wedding at Gardens of Ray Eden in Louisville, KY

"Hello! Gosh...where to even begin? I know that everyone has “all the feels” when they think about their wedding or their relationship with their fiancé, but I think our “feels” are contagious to those around us! I know, I just gagged typing that, but it is true.

We are both in our mid 30’s and I had not really been interested to get married, because I felt like all the good ones were gone. Also, my father had passed away 4 years ago and getting married meant I would have to have one of the biggest days of my life, without one of the biggest people in my life there to experience it with me. I was unsure that I would find someone that I would love enough to have a wedding, that would be worth experiencing the pain of not having my dad with me.

When I first met Blake, I just wanted to meet someone to have drinks with during the week, but on the very first date, I knew things were different with him. He too lost his father, almost in the exact same way that I lost mine, and I knew from that moment, things were different with him. He just got it (or I just got it, depending upon who you ask 😉). In just 10 short months (although I knew LONG before then), he asked me to marry him. I truly believe that we are a “match made in heaven”!

We were very fortunate that a friend of his father’s owns and manages the Gardens at Ray Eden and had a cancelation for June 8 of 2019 (he is currently booked 1.5 years out). We fell in love with the grounds when we went to tour it today, although I am now in crunch mode to book vendors!

I apologize for the novel, but that is us in a nutshell! I am hoping by some twist of fate, or the stars are aligning, that you will be available on that date!"

Needless to say, their story was beautiful to tell through film. And I"m happy to say Amy & Blake have a beautiful healthy baby boy now! I'm sure their fathers are looking down on them every single day, and I hope you enjoy their wedding film!

Who are we? We're Andy & Jamie and we make up Slye Films. We are a fun-loving husband-&-wife videography team based in Louisville, Kentucky but travel all over the world. Since 2015 we’ve been transforming weddings into cinematic highlight films for couples all over the country. Not only do we have a strong passion for capturing those special moments but we also love: getting engaged on the cliffs of Scotland, honeymooning to a snowy Canadian lake, sharing a French Press of locally-roasted coffee on Saturday mornings, reading books aloud over dry red wine, and binge-watching The Lord of the Rings trilogy every winter (extended editions only).

Why do we love filming weddings? Hiring a wedding videographer is important, but we believe hiring the right people who instantly make you feel comfortable is even better. As a married couple we know just how fast the wedding day goes by. Months of planning with thousands of dollars invested go into one single day then POOF – it’s gone in the blink of an eye. We live for the moment when we finally send a couple their wedding film, and they reply saying they can’t stop watching and/or crying. Filming weddings also allows us to do our famous tradition of re-enacting American Gothic in your photo booth ;)
