June Garden Tour with 700+ Tomato Plants & So Much More

I love bringing you all behind the scenes, so let's do a little garden tour to see what our seed production farm in Ramona looks like in June!

We have a lot growing this time of year, and a lot of the crops are really taking off. That means maintenance for us!

Starting with our 700+ tomatoes, we're working on wrangling them up. We're using the Florida weave method here for these determinates, so the strings help keep things under control. I like this method because it's quick, easy, and scalable for long rows.

Moving over to some flowers, you might notice our dahlias look a little funny. We're using bags to keep insects off just like you might see people do with fruit trees. We also use the bags to capture the seeds at the end of the season!

These were actually overwintered, meaning we left the tubers in the ground and didn't dig them up. That's one of the really cool things about growing in zone 9 or warmer.

Back to tomatoes, the dwarf varieties are staying in order. These plants are very compact, and that makes it so easy to manage. You can still enjoy every color, shape, and size of tomato from these varieties.
