For me, nothing adds interest to a project like using creating a little bit of texture using simple stitches. Here, I'm working in rows, crocheting an easy two row repeat which gives beautiful raised lines..

How to: start with a chain of your desired length, any number of stitches. For row one, and every odd numbered row, work one 'yarn over slip stitch' (YO SLST, also known as a half double slip stitch) in each stitch. Find a slow demo of this stitch here: https://youtube.com/shorts/27OuLoxWqQE
At the end of the row, chain one and turn. For row two, and every even numbered row, work one single crochet US/double crochet UK in the 'third loop'. Not sure where to find the third loop?
