The RhB Berninabahn - Meter gauge over the Swiss Alps

The Berninabahn is arguably the most scenic railway in the world. The line connects Tirano in Northern Italy with St. Moritz in the mountainous Graubünden province of Switzerland. The line is the highest adhesion crossing of the Alps with grades of 7% leading up to the summit at 2,253 meters. The railroad operates numerous passenger trains using both the classic ABe 4/4 III railmotors and new Allegra units from Stadler. In addition to the regular regional trains the dome roof Bernina Express operates several times daily for tourists. The video features many of the scenic highlights of the line including the streetrunning in Tirano, the Brusio Spiral, numerous scenes on the tight horseshoe curves leading up to Alp Gruem and along the beautiful alpine lake at Ospizio Bernina. The video features scenes both trackside and aboard the train, the video was primarily filmed over a few days in September 2019 with a few scenes from a previous trip in 2012.
